Young people less likely to drink alcohol compared to adults and older men

Nearly seven in ten Irish people now report good health, according to a recent poll. However, this improvement in health status is still below pre-Covid levels and has continued to decline among the over 55s.

  • 75% of people globally consider themselves very healthy or healthy.
  • Countries in the APAC region have the most positive self-perception of health, with 83% of people in these countries considering themselves healthy.
  • The countries with the most pessimistic health perceptions are Slovakia (56%), Poland (59%), and Chile (60%).
  • Self-medication is a significant concern, with 35% of people admitting to taking prescription drugs without a doctor’s order.
