Enhancing Emotional Well-being for Local Students
The SDFHC has been working tirelessly to address the growing concerns of mental health among local students. The grant will be used to implement a comprehensive school-based program that focuses on promoting emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and social skills. This program will be designed to help students develop healthy coping mechanisms and build resilience in the face of adversity.
“By expanding our school-based mental health program, we are committed to providing more students with access to the mental health services they need to thrive.”
Expanding Mental Health Services in Schools
The grant will enable SDFHC to hire additional mental health professionals, including licensed therapists and counselors, to provide counseling services to students in the William S. Hart Union High School District.
To achieve this commitment, the center provides counseling services, after-school programs, and community outreach initiatives. These services are designed to empower the youth to take control of their lives, build resilience, and develop essential life skills. The center’s goal is to foster a supportive environment where youth can openly express their feelings, concerns, and experiences without fear of judgment or rejection. By providing these services, the center aims to promote positive youth development and break the cycle of negative experiences that can impact their future. One of the key programs offered by the center is the Youth Empowerment Program. This program is designed to empower youth to take ownership of their lives and make positive changes in their communities.
